How GPS attendance works
payora uses GPS geofencing to verify employee check-ins.
How it works
When an employee marks attendance from the mobile app, payora captures their GPS coordinates and compares them against your configured office location and radius.
Setting up
1. Go to Settings → Attendance in your admin dashboard
2. Enable GPS verification
3. Set your office latitude, longitude, and radius (in meters)
4. Employees within the radius can mark attendance; those outside will see a warning
Accuracy
GPS accuracy depends on the employee's device. Most modern smartphones provide accuracy within 10-20 meters. payora records the accuracy value with each check-in.
Mock location detection
The mobile app detects mock location apps and flags suspicious check-ins. These are visible in the admin dashboard with a warning indicator.
